A Place for Plants,

Community, & Creativity

If you are reading this, we can’t thank you enough. This business has grown (and continues to grow - looking at you Garden Tiger) into something we couldn’t have dreamt up when we first started. We built a business with community and the connection that plants can create at the forefront, and the friends we’ve made along the way we will cherish forever. They are like-minded individuals, business owners, small business supporters, creatives, dreamers, plant lovers - people like you.

See it all started when…

While living in Charleston our founder, Jen, started helping her neighbor with his floral business. One thing led to another and soon she was traveling to floral shows with him, moving from the food + beverage industry to something much greener (and oh so pretty). When Jen moved to Orlando with her family she opened Porch Therapy in East End Market, and the little shop took off.

After seeing the neighborhood’s response to Porch Therapy, Jen felt the opportunity to create a space where plants could intersect with the community in a larger way. She found the Old Lombardi Seafood warehouse (which by the way was being used as a port-o-potty warehouse at the time) and immediately saw the potential. And thus, The Heavy was born! We open our doors everyday with our mantra ‘Winter Parks Happy Place’ in mind; ready to meet old and new friends, talk plants, and share our love for our community.

We Hope to Meet You Soon!
